Thinking of Spring

Our chances of snow in South Town are growing slimmer by the day. These balmy days we are having make me long for my favorite time of year in the South...Spring! Unfortunately there are no flowers in bloom at the moment but my precious daughter did receive beautiful tulips from her Daddy recently. Purple and Green are one of my favorite color combinations. I had to snap a few images just because. Enjoy

Lovely Getaway

Tropical places are much more appealing during the winter months. To be on a warm, sandy beach in the Winter is like being in heaven. Enjoy.

Daniel Stowe Botanicle Gardens

Happy 2012. My first post of the new year. I'm a little late. Better late than never I guess. The grey days of Winter in the Carolina's (however this winter has been unusually warm and sunny) made me want to post some images I took at the Stowe Botanical Gardens last Fall. What a beautiful place for photographers, painters, writers and those who just want to escape for a moment. The day I was there, it was a chilly October day but the sun was out in full force. These images are deceiving. It was colder than it looks. Enjoy!

Sunflowers

They are in full bloom here in South Town. So beautiful! I love how they dance in the wind. Makes it a little difficult for good macro shots though. Enjoy

Schiele Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July Weekend. This past week I took my children to the Schiele Museum in Gastonia NC. The main exibit is the CAVES which I highly recommend you see. The images below are from various parts of the Natural Trail. My favorite part was the Mill. Enjoy.

Manic Monday

Monday's are always crazy in my world. Regardless if the kids are in school or not, Mondays top the list as the craziest day of our week. And can I add that our pool is CLOSED on Mondays! In the South where its 90+ degrees and consistently hazy, hot and humid, a closed pool should be illegal but I digress.
Still on the macro kick. I took these images yesterday in my backyard. I think the reason I love Macro photography is because it gets your imagination going. You try to guess what you are looking at, what the object looks like as a whole and what type of setting the object is in. Please enjoy and have a great Monday.
